Wojciech Fangor (1922–2015)

Wojciech Fangor was a painter, graphic artist and art theorist, and one of the leading figures of Polish Op Art. His work explored the relationship between colour, form and the way we perceive space.

In 1965, his work was featured in The Responsive Eye, a groundbreaking exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1970, Fangor became the first Polish artist to have a solo exhibition at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.

This journal was created in collaboration with FANGOR Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving, documenting and promoting the work and legacy of Wojciech Fangor. The Foundation supports exhibitions, publications and research projects devoted to the artist.
