Wojciech Fangor - “N 12”

N 12 was painted in 1964, during a period when Fangor was increasingly exploring colour, form and the perception of space. Softly blurred circles appear to float above the surface of the painting, creating an illusion of depth without depicting any literal subject.

On the calendar cover, the composition retains its distinctive, focused character. It is striking yet more restrained than Fangor’s most intensely colourful works, making it particularly well suited to minimalist surroundings.
