Wojciech Fangor (1922–2015)

Wojciech Fangor was a painter, graphic artist and theorist of art, and one of the most important representatives of Polish Op Art. His work explored the relationships between colour, form and the way we perceive space.

In 1965, his work was included in the groundbreaking exhibition The Responsive Eye at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1970, Fangor became the first Polish artist to have a solo exhibition at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.

The journal was created in collaboration with FANGOR Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving, documenting and promoting the work and legacy of Wojciech Fangor. The Foundation supports exhibitions, publications and research projects devoted to the artist.
